netJACK as a univeral communication module with its PCI Express interface especially addresses the embedded market of high performance CPU like e. g. the Intel Atom. Alternatively a model with the classic dual-port memory and fast serial SPI interface is available. netJACK as a module with system interface can control an LCD display beside the communication interface and can execute control functions with an integrated soft PLC. In this variant netJACK contains a buffered real-time clock and a non-volatile RAM as well as a larger memory expansion, thus it is possibble to use the operating systems Linux or Windows CE. Common for all models is the compact construction as closed modules, which can be mounted without additional tools by a technically experienced layperson. No extra costs arise using netJACK as an option module, because connector and guide rails are realised by signal areas respectively mortise in the PCB of the base board. Another potential for cost saving is the reduced type diversity, reduced costs for stock and assembly, because the netJACK can be pluged in immediately before shipping or by the OEM.
